About
The Littlemore Fellowship is a monthly gathering of Christian men living in Victoria, BC, Canada, and the surrounding area, who meet for approximately two hours in a member's home to share passages by and about Saint John Henry Newman, Doctor of the Church and works by other orthodox writers belonging to the living English Patrimony, for discussion to help us better conform our lives to the will of God revealed in the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ. Meetings conclude with Compline.
No medicine is more valuable, none more efficacious, none better suited to the cure of all our temporal ills than a friend to whom we may turn for consolation in time of trouble, and with whom we may share our happiness in time of joy. St. Aelred of Rievaulx, Spiritual Friendship

A Little More History
From 1842 to 1846, John Henry Newman lived at The College at Littlemore, turning it into a peaceful retreat for prayer and study with a few close friends. It was there, on October 9, 1845, that Newman—renowned Anglican preacher, Fellow of Oriel College, and prominent leader of the Oxford Movement—was welcomed into full communion with the Catholic Church by Blessed Dominic Barberi, an Italian missionary priest.

Mission
God has created me to do Him some definite service. He has committed some work to me which He has not committed to another. I have my mission. I may never know it in this life, but I shall be told it in the next. I am a link in a chain, a bond of connection between persons. St. John Henry Newman
Littlemore gatherings aim to honour the Eucharistic fellowship that flows from the Mass, the source and summit of the Christian life (CCC 1324).
1. We explore the rich English liturgical, intellectual, and cultural patrimony which helps to form us as faithful disciples of Jesus Christ. Mindful of our own need for ongoing conversion, we participate locally in the larger mission of the Universal Church - the salvation of souls (Canon 1752).
2. We are mindful that the primary mission of the Ordinariate is evangelization.
3. We draw upon the many spiritual treasures of the English Patrimony to open us to God’s grace, to inform our thinking and to configure our attitudes and behaviour to the holiness and charity of God, resources which by necessity include Holy Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the works of orthodox witnesses to the Faith, especially those writings of our holy patron Saint John Henry Newman, Doctor of the Church.
4. We are mindful that we have an obligation to think with the Church (sentire cum Ecclesia) and to pray with the Church (orare cum Ecclesia) as we explore aspects of Christian thought and practice, and examine current issues that impact our lives, so that we may remain united in faith and practice with the Church (cum Ecclesia concorditer agere).
In your hearts reverence Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to make a defense to anyone who calls you to account for the hope that is in you, yet do it with gentleness and reverence. 1 Peter 3:15
